2 Old business
2.1 EIA/IS-722
and EIA/IS-772 conversion to ANSI/EIA status
ACTION ITEM-Find
out why EIA/IS 722 and 772 were not balloted for ANSI/EIA status. These
were approved for conversion to the new status, re:
2.2 Proposal
for a PTC specification
It was recommended to base the document on a VDE draft that is formatted
like IEC 60738. The VDE draft will be voted on shortly. The intent is
to circulate the existing document to the Committee for comments that
will be due by 5/31/00. The comments will be reviewed and addressed
by an ad-hoc group consisting of A Barrett, B Travis, M Gomez and any
of those who comment who would like to participate. Depending on the
comments it may be possible to draft a "one page" document referencing
the VDE standard and describing any necessary US deviations. The other
approach is to adopt an English version of the VDE standard as an ANSI/EIA
document.
3 New business
No new business was offered.
4 Selection of
next meetings
The next meeting will be in San Diego, California
5 Adjournment
The Committee moved, seconded, and unanimously agreed to adjourn at
5:30 PM.
6 Action items
This meeting was
conducted in accordance with the EIA legal guidelines and the manual
of organization and procedures.
