MEETING MINUTES
EIA CE-4.0 COMMITTEE ON RF CONNECTORS
April 30, 2002 DSCC - Columbus, Ohio

1. The Meeting Minutes of June 25, 2001 held at EIA, Arlington, VA were read and accepted.

2. The SMPM interface was reviewed. The results are as follows:
A. The "J" dimension was removed from the male interface.
B. Dimensions "F" and "G" were added to the female interface ("E and "F") on the final drawing.
C. The leader line was moved to the point of the bump at "Find 3" of the female interface.
D. It was proposed that dimension "B" of the male be .113 min. A member vote of 4-Y, 3-N, 4-Abstain was recorded.
E. It was proposed that dimension "B" of the male be .111 min. A member vote of 7-Y, 1-N, 3 abstain was recorded.
F. At the 45 chamfer on the female, the text "or Rad. Typ" was added.
G. On the female, remove the "B", "C' and "D" symbol.
H. At the female socket, change to "Accept a .011 - .013 pin
I. Remove "cable connector" from the female description.
J. Craig Baker of Corning-Gilbert to bring art current and submit to Mr. Gary at DSCC for circulation and comment.
K. Performance characteristics to be discussed at the next meeting.

3. Mr. Gary of DSCC requested the Committee consider the means of simplifying the requalification process and submit suggestions to
Mr. Joel Hemmila at DSCC.

4. Mr. Gary of DSCC requested the Committee provide recommendations for dimensioning the anti-rock ring of the male SMP connector and also redimensioning the current configuration with regard to the "Reference Plane" for inclusion in Mil-Std-348.

5. The review of the TK interface (Tensolite, S/V Microwave, Astrolab) should be coordinated using the Astrolab drawing and be forwarded to Mr. Gary at DSCC.

6. The Finalization of the 75 interfaces will held until the next meeting.

7. Date and time of the next meeting. TBD


--COMMENT-

A Coordination Meeting on Mil-Std-348 was held at DSCC, Columbus, Ohio on September 18 - 19, 2002.

At this meeting the committee was asked to develop gaging for determining the mating abilities of the SMP connector. Craig Baker of Corning-Gilbert volunteered to develop and distribute gage drawings to the Committee.
