of the P-14 Committee on Overcurrent Protection Devices

Committee organization and procedures Self-introductions were made, attendance taken, and it was determined that a quorum was present. The Committee was reminded of the Committee membership rule, which states that if a member misses two consecutive meetings, then at the third missed meeting, the member is moved from the membership list to the non-voting CTA list. The member will be re-instated at the next meeting attended. This rule comes from EIA EP-20-A, "Manual of Organization & Procedure," December 2000, Section 4.6.1.1 Meeting Quorum Pool (page 17-18), which states that: - A meeting quorum pool is defined as those members eligible to vote at a meeting: a) If a voting member is not represented at two consecutive meetings and the absence continues for the subsequent meetings, the member shall be removed from the Meeting Quorum Poll for the subsequent meetings. Upon attendance at a subsequent meeting the member shall be reinstated in the Meeting Quorum Poll and have full voting privileges at that meeting. 1.2 Approval of the Agenda The Committee unanimously accepted the Agenda as presented. 1.3 Approval of the Minutes The Committee unanimously accepted the Minutes of the last meeting as written. 1.4 Correspondence No correspondence was received. 1.5 DSCC Report The DSCC report for P-14 is attached. 2.0 Old business 2.1 EIA/IS-722, (SP-4357-A) "Low Voltage Supplemental Fuse Qualification Specification." Upgrade to ANSI Standard - Ballot results. A total of 5 responses (4 approvals) and one unfavorable ballot from Schurter were received. The negative comments from Schurter were addressed by making revisions to SP-4357-A. Schurter at the meeting and in a letter from the P-14 Committee chairman accepted the revisions and revised their unfavorable ballot to favorable. At the meeting a Motion was made to delete the IEC-127-4 reference in Figures B.1, B.2, B.3 and B.4 on pages 24-27. Motion carried unanimously by the committee. Motion to approve revised version of SP-4357-A to upgrade EIA/IS-772, "Low Voltage Supplemental Fuse Qualification Specification," to an ANSI Standard. Motion was carried unanimously by the committee. Revised version to be sent to Michael Tinkleman for final EDEC and ANSI approvals. Action Item 2.2 EIA/IS-772, (SP-4920) "User's Application Guide to Fuses," Upgrade to ANSI Specification - Ballot results. A total of 4 responses were received. All were to approve with one of them to approve with comments. The comments, a typographical error, were addressed and the corrections made in a letter from the P-14 chairman to Schurter which Schurter accepted. At the meeting a Motion was made to delete the IEC-127-4 reference in Figures B.1, B.2, B.3 and B.4 on pages 24 and 25. Motion carried unanimously by the committee. Motion to approve revised version of SP-4920 to upgrade EIA/IS-722, "Users Application Guide to Fuses", to an ANSI Standard. Motion was carried unanimously by the committee. Revised version to be sent to Michael Tinkleman for final EDEC and ANSI approvals. Action Item 2.3 Ad-Hoc Committee updates a) Mechanical Outlines b) PTC Document
Status 3.0 New business 3.1 New Projects a) Surge Fuses Motion was made to ballot PN-4951, as revised at today's meeting, on a 30-day EIA letter ballot to be published as an EIA standard. Vote carried unanimously. Carl Lindquist will provide to Michael Tinkleman within 30 days a clean copy of PN-4951 for balloting. Action Item b) Polymer ESD Devices 4.0 Selection of next meeting The next meeting
will be in Philadelphia, 10/8-10/2001. The Committee moved, seconded, and unanimously agreed to adjourn at 11:50AM. This meeting was
conducted in accordance with the EIA legal guidelines and the manual
