1.0
Introductions
Self-introductions were made.
2.0 Committee Organization and Procedures
2.1 Membership and Attendance
Attendance was taken, and it was determined that a quorum was present.
All attendees verified the correctness of the information on the rosters.
2.2 Approval
of Agenda
The Committee unanimously accepted the Agenda as presented.
2.3 Approval
of October, 2000 Meeting Minutes
The minutes of the Monday, October 8, 2001 Loews Hotel Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania meeting were approved.
2.4 Correspondence
The only correspondence was information from Doug Corbin from Kamaya
regarding the addition of the 0201 and 0402 sizes to EIA-575-A and EIA-576-A.
This information was presented under section 3.3 of old business
2.5 Review of
the Committee's Scope
No changes in committee scope.
2.6 DSCC Report
Dennis Cross from Defense Supply Center Columbus reviewed the list of
revised documents relating to resistors. A copy of the revised documents
is attached.
3.0 Old Business
3.2 Review ESD tests in EIA/IS-703 and compare to AEC-Q200 Rev B
matrix. Also compare IEC-801 - Dave Ritchey
Due to restructuring with in Dave's company he was unable to complete
the comparison. Dave will keep the action item and report at the October
2002 meeting.
3.3 Add 0201
implementation issues to the agenda for future considerations - Nick
Marshall
No one was sure what the specifics of the subject were, and since Nick
was not present at the meeting and no report was submitted to the chair,
this item will be deleted from any future agenda's until Nick returns
to a meeting.
3.4 Addition
of 0201 and 0402 sizes to EIA-575-A and EIA-576-A - Stephen Olster and
Maureen Slezak
Neither Stephen Olster or Maureen Slezak (no longer with Kamaya) attended
the meeting. Chairman Brian Piscitelli did receive correspondence from
Doug Corbin from Kamaya who could not attend either but did start to
add the 0201 and 0402 information to the specifications.
The committee reviewed
EIA-575-A in detail during and proposed the following changes/additions:
· Add 0201 and 0402 dimensions and power ratings to the specification.
· Revise the power ratings for the other sizes. Example: The
specification rates a 1206 as 1/8 watt while the industry now rates
the part at ¼ watt. A note should also be added to explain the
increased power ratings.
· Add 1218 dimensions and power ratings to the specification.
· Review the test methods and change from EIA-186 to MIL-STD-202
latest revision.
· Add 0.5% tolerance and +/- 50 ppM/C TCR
· Increase the temperature range to 150 C, also update the derating
curve.
The committee then
reviewed EIA-576-A in detail and proposed the following changes/additions:
· Add the 0201 and 0402 dimensions and power ratings.
· Add 0.05% tolerance
· Review the test methods and change from EIA-186 to MIL-STD-202
latest revision.
The action item
of making the above updates to both EIA-575-A and EIA-576-A will be
done by Brian Piscitelli. Once completed the specifications will be
emailed out to the committee for review so a formal vote can take place
at the October 2002 meeting.
4.0 New Business
4.2 Review resistor outlines as they now relate to the new PDP-100
Mechanical Outline system
The P-4 committee updated the PDP-100 Mechanical Outline specification
from a paper/binder format to a searchable database on the web. It was
started with fuses - but each committee was asked in the U-1 meeting
to review the newly updated part number system and try to redo there
respective outlines. Dave Ritchy will take the action to review the
resistor outlines versus the new PDP-100 specification and report to
both the P-4 and P-1 committees at the October meeting. The web sites
for the new searchable PDP-100 are as follows:

or

5.0 Next Meeting
The next meeting will be at the 5th ECA Engineering Summit week of 7
October 2002 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The meeting time will be
2:00 to 4:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2002.
6.0 Adjournment
