The meeting was called to order by Chairman Coil at 9:00 AM. An attendance sheet was circulated for signatures.


1.0 Minutes of November 8, 2000 Review


A correction under 5.3 27V Funnel Neckless/Nubbin Pack. 5.3 should read 27V 110
Funnel Neckless/Nubbin Pack. Minutes approved after correction.

2.0 Membership Review

Harold Gruber of Techneglas was introduced to the JT-7 Committee.

Chairman Coil will be sending a complete roster of the JT-7 Committee for review and updating to the
EIA Committee.


3.0 Correspondence

No new correspondence has been received.

5.0 Old Business

5.1 Return Packaging Specifications

The JT-7 Committee will yearly update the RS 505 Specification Book. Mark Yaudes of Corning will
continue to update the RS 505 Specification Book.

5.2 Tooling History of Molds for Plastic Parts

Roy Fehrman of Fabri-Form has completed 90 % of the Panel parts. The Funnel and Bulb parts have yet to be started.

5.3 27v 110 Funnel Neckless/Nubbin Pack

Thomson Consumer Electronics sent glass to Fabri-Form to start working on this pack. At this time
TCE has no representative to work on this pack.

5.4. 20v Funnel Neckless Tray Pack

Techneglas to do a two-pallet load trailer test in Mexicali, Mexico when scheduling permits.

5.5 Color Code Packaging

There has been no new information and will be removed from the next meeting agenda.

5.6 29v 110 Funnel Neckless/Nubin Pack

This pack will be developed when pending glass drawings become available.

5.7 29VHP Panel Pack

This pack will be developed when pending glass drawings become available.

5.8 25v 100 Necked One-way Funnel Pack

Techneglas still waiting for Sales Engineering to confirm timing of pack test at Samsung, Mexico. This is a 3rd generation corrugate design. Nevin Oldfather of Packaging Corp. of America has a new type design with only three pack parts. A JT-7 Task Force meeting will be setup at a later date to look at this new design.

6.0 New Business

6.1 38RSN Funnel Neckless Pack

Started preliminary testing of a partial prototype with all glass companies involved.

6.2 27v 100 Funnel Neckless Pack

Started re-testing of the 27v 100 Neckless. The compression and vibrating test passed, but the incline
plane test failed with numerous glass breakages. A new design is to be looked at this year.

6.3 25v 100 Funnel Neckless Pack

The JT-7 Committee will start working on a new design of the 25v 100 Neckless pack.

6.4 Election of JT-7 Committee Officer

Roy Fehrman of Fabri-Form nominated Mark Yaudes of Corning Asahi Video Products Co. for the
vacant office of Vice-Chairman. The motion was made and the vote was unanimous for Mark Yaudes
to be the new Vice-Chairman of the JT-7 Committee.

6.5 Presentation by Jade Lee of SSI

Jade Lee of Systems Service International presented the JT-7 Committee information on her company
in the recycling of CRTs in the USA. Currently CRTs are dismantled & some parts sent to China. There are more regulatory restrictions causing Systems Service International to seek alternative ways to recycle these parts. Jade Lee will be contacting the CRT Industry for help with this project.


7.0 Next Meeting Date

The next meeting will be determined at a later date.
