He also gave a demonstration of the JT-31 Committee information already posted on the ECA web site - minutes, scope, agenda, meeting announcement, and 5/2000 meeting attendees. The committee was quite pleased to have the Phosphor Registry on the ECA web site. This will make it easier to register new phosphors worldwide. The committee would like their counterparts in Europe (Pro Electron), and in Japan (EIAJ) to be made aware that the Phosphor Registry is now accessible on the ECA web site. Action Item 2.2 Standards Review 2.2.1 TEP-105-11B,
"Measurement of the Color of CRT Screens" - published June,
2000 2.2.3 TEP-105-12, "Test Method for Tube Face Reflectance - work is continuing. The committee is using VESA #FPD-1,"Flat Panel Display Measurement," as resource. Robert Donofrio, former committee chairman, who was at the prior meeting, is assisting in the development of TEP-105-12. 2.2.4 TEP-105-15, Glass aging Work is continuing on the revision. A copy of the earlier version of TEP-105-15 had been sent to Dave Tammaro of Corning for his comments and suggestions. He was not able to attend today's meeting, but he did send Tanya Jacobs and Bob Spaulding, both from Corning, to discuss Corning's extensive work on glass aging. Their comments also covered x-ray and electronic browning, and techneglas versus corning glass. 2.3 "Glossary of CRT Terms & Definitions" (SP-2647) Update of TEP-192 - Bill Rowe has taken the lead on this document and has incorporated relevant materials from JT-7 and JT-31 in it. He will also be discussing it further in the subsequent JT-6 meeting. The goal is to get it ready for ballot by all of EDSC. 3.0 New business 3.1 Flat panel (FP) use of phosphors - nothing yet on flat panels. The committee isn't ready yet to list information on flat panels. Committee probably needs to further enlist the assistance of people from the flat panel industry in these efforts. Two people from GATech participated in the prior JT-31 meeting. 4.0 Next Meetings The next meeting
is scheduled at the SID Conference on 6/6/2001 in San Jose. The Committee moved, seconded, and unanimously agreed to adjourn at 10:00AM. 6.0 Action Items The committee would like their counterparts in Europe (Pro Electron), and in Japan (EIAJ) to be made aware that the Phosphor Registry is now accessible on the ECA web site. TEP-105-11B, "Measurement of the Color of CRT Screens" and TEP-105-16-A " Phosphor Linearity Tests" - published June, 2000. Committee would like both of these standards put on the ECA web site under the JT-31 section. This meeting was conducted in accordance with the EIA legal guidelines and the manual of organization and procedures. George Ehemann,
